Hello this may be a stupid question but I am wondering if the PCM5102 dac chip is the same as pcm5102a? If not what are the differences?

Oh and just to add, what’s the best dac chip available right now on the market?

Maybe telling us what Digital to Analog Converter your going to install the chip in would help at answering your question?

Oh I’m wondering if the O2 Dac has the same chip as the FiiO E17K. The pcm5102a (o2 dac) is different than the PCM5102? (E17K)
I believe the E17K, with the PCM5102, is limited to around 24-bit/192k audio.
Where as the PCM5102a DAC chip offers up to 32-bit/384k audio.

Are you sure? I swear I thought the e17k could’ve played up to 32 bit audio.
I believe somewhere is was discussed the E17K supports 32-bit/192k, but did not want to claim as a true fact.
But chances are you not going to have a need for 32-bit anyway.
