Is there a way to create a digital/optical out from the line out of a PCDP like the Sony D-33. A way to convert the signal from line out so it can be run through an external DAC??
Well, there are A-to-D converters available that'll take an analog signal and convert it to digital (M-Audio, for example, makes one), but this would be a totally pointless exercise for listening purposes. Since it's already passed through the DAC stage once, the only effect of this would be to add an unnecessary stage to the signal path.
You could get a PCDP with a built-in optical out, like the Sony D-NE20, D-NE10, D-NE900, D-NE920, etc.
