So I recently bought a detachable boom mic with the following spec
Pattern: Uni-directional
Sensitivity: -38 ± 3 dB
Response: 100 Hz–10 kHz
SNR: >50+ dB
Impedance: 2.2 KΩ
Operating Voltage: 1 to 10V
Max current at 2.0V: 500 µA
Max input SPL: 110 dB
Now my sound card is the Asus Xonar Essence ST, I've plugged the mic in (3.5mm with an adapter to fit into the sound card) and the issue I'm having is that the mic's volume is too low without mic boost, not even remotely enough for people to hear me, but with mic boost on, it literally picks up every single sound that can be heard in my end, includes birds outside, people in the kitchen... everything. There's simply no adjustment for how many db I want to boost my mic up by...
Are there any software or hardware solution to this problem?
Now I'm not really ready to buy a new microphone as I really need one that can be attached to my HD598 Headphone
Here are some solution I'm thinking of :
1. maybe buying a cheap usb sound card or some sort to plug the mic in
2. Buying a new external sound card
3. Some sort of external hardware I can purchase that allows me to manually adjust my microphone signal
