I'm going to commission a PIMETA soon and have a question.

The amp is going to be used at work. I'll be using a USB Sonica into the PIMETA. The problem is that I frequently have to switch between external speakers and my headphones and I was wondering if the following was possible.

What I would like is to go mini plug from the Sonica into RCA on the PIMETA. Before connecting to the amp inside I'd like a button/toggle that would route the signal either to the amp or to a second set of outgoing RCA jacks. The outgoing jacks would then go to my external speakers.

This way to switch between Headphones and Speakers all I have to do is hit the button/toggle switch.

Anyone see any problems with this?

Thanks,
-Ron

Yeah, that should be no problem. It's just a DPDT switch.

Alternatively, if the speakers have a convenient power switch/volume control, you could just split the signal. Both amps are high-impedence inputs, so they shouldn't affect the signal much at all.

If you're not worried about battery life, you might want to use the PIMETA as a preamp. I did that with my most recent amp and I like what it did to the sound. Then you'd need a DPDT on amp output.
