Here is PART TWO of my previous thread soliciting feedback on the above CD components http://www4.head-fi.org/forums/showt...threadid=53680

I went to audition the following: Arcam 73-Rotel 1070-Rega Planet.
I am not an audiophile however my uneducated ears concluded the following:

I liked the Arcam the least-everything seemed blended together-no seperation and there was not much bottom end

The Rotel was quite nice-very nice separation-nice crisp detail-nice bass

The Rega seemed like a nice compromise between the two giving the best that the other two had to offer.

Any comments?

You picked the one I would have out of the three. Now if you get the CD25 with the one plus mods from www.underwoodhifi.com you will have a player that throws a wider and deeper sound stage than the Rega, and has a more liquid presentation with greater detail. I've owned both and the Jupiter 2K and the CD25(with mods) is a better player than the Planet and at least the equal to the jupiter. All that for 870.00 new.
