Anyone here have much experience of Paramo jackets?
 
Before posting an essay about what I'm considering, I thought I'd gauge the interest/experience here!
 
As it happens, I've just bought a Fuera Ascent, which I hope to be able to make use of in a wide range of conditions, particularly pushing it into warmer temperatures as a well-vented windproof. Obviously, before it's even arrived, I'm now wondering whether I could replicate its functionality using gear I already have! Not to worry, I think it will prove to be a versatile, decent bit of kit that will be worth having.

Hmm, not much joy, so a couple of specific questions.

Part of my quandry is lies with the different venting options, which are

1. big pit/side zips;
2. smaller chest/arm zips;
3. 3rd element (gilet with or without sleeves -- can be loosely attached)

How effective are any of these?
Is there a big difference between the options?
Would the gilet suffer from lack of side venting?
