I am constructing a basic CMoy amp to use with my PCDP. I was wondering if it would be a good idea to use an OPA4134 and have two paralel opamps per channel. Would it improve the sound much? Would it decrease the battery life at all?

Also, for a power supply, I was wondering if I could wire two 9v batteries in series, then get the virtual ground from inbetween them, i.e.

Code:

Code:
[left]-9v [- battery +] vgnd [- battery +] +9v[/left]

doing away with the voltage divider. I would also need to parallel a power cap with each battery, correct?

unless your headphones are low impedance current hungry cans like the grados the double opamp option is not needed .

You would most likely be better off with a buffer after the opamp anyway

the battery issue : You will do better to use 8 AA batteries before the artificial ground for long life and high voltage (+/- 6 V)
