does anyone know how the sound compares to the ct790, and if it has a lineout or not?

kin3tix, AudioCubes actually sells the Japanese/Asian-market version of the SL-CT590. It comes with a remote, and may have a line-out and/or an optical-out.

Don't confuse that CT590 with the version that's officially sold in the U.S. - the latter has no remote and no line or optical out.

yes i do know that eagle_driver. i was contemplating a new pcdp sometime in the future, and i'm either going to get the 790 or 590 from audiocubes. i considered the 590 because it has an lcd display on the unit. soo, do you know anything about it eagle_driver, or anyone?

From my experience with the CT590's predecessor, the CT580, expect the CT590 to sound slightly grainier than the CT790 - but still not as overwarm as the headphone-out of most Sony PCDPs.

hmm, looks like super sleek and sexy 790 it is. btw, if i get the jap/asian model, would i need to get a transformer for it, in order to use the wallwart?
