Panasonic SA-XR57?

If you are looking for a great amp that will not cost a fortune, the 57 and 55 (hard to find now because the 57 is its successor) are it. I have a black 55 and I love it. VERY clear and detailed. They are not warm, but I do not think they are bright either. If you are doing stereo only, you can tri amp them (2 for the woofer and 1 for the tweeter) for extra current I believe (not extra wattage unfortunatley). It supposedly sounds best with a digital source as there is not ADC conversion like there is with the analog inputs. Here are links that will give you more information than you ever wanted to know

i set my father in-law up with an XR55 + Athena B1... in a room that is far from acoustically ideal... and i can't believe how good it sounds. crystal clear is how i'd describe it.

as far as i'm aware, there's no real hardware difference with the XR57 except for the HDMI input/output. so they should essentially sound the same.
