I’m looking into getting either the above or the HD 497, to use with an MP3 player.

I had a listen to both and "I think"

I like the sound of the HT850 better (or anyway better suited to portable audio). It seems to be it has a “brighter” sound, also the bass (tho not as strong) is more “snappy” not so “elastic” as with the 497’s.

If anyone had experience with the HT850 I would like to know its weaknesses...
