hi im new here and was wondering if anyone could tell me how does the PA2V2 amp fare with low impedance headphones, eg grados ?

It's designed for low impedance phones.

sr60 and ms1 sound fine via the Pocket Amp. IMO it's a really good cheap combo.

I found the same, btw it also works great with the Ety ER6i. Good luck.

Should this power the hd595 well or will it be wortwhile to spend $50 more on a mini 3 or some other DIY?

Gary is very helpful, he is the nicest guy i have ever dealed with and his PA2V2 is a pretty good amp. Im using it with an ipod classic, ue superfi5pro, Silverline LOD, made by Kácsa Audio, sounds amazing.

Yes, it drives 595 just well.

PA2V2 was my first portable amp two years ago. It's good to start, but believe me, you will have a better one VERY SOON to replace it.
