owning mutliple items

There is something very satisfying about collecting beautiful equipment.

I would just be interested in people's thoughts about why they get a new amp or headphone or DAC long after they have enough to satisfy anyone.

Because we can? The quest for better sound? That extra 1%. No headphone or equipment does everything perfectly hence the need for specialist items?

Honestly I think that is what separates the casual headphone user from those like us that enjoy this as a true hobby. I own a tube amp for my T1's and a solid state amp to drive my HE500's. I also change and tweek my equipment from time to time. It's all part of the hobby.

Its part of the hobby and fun. I have 3 vacuum tube amps that I listen to on my HE-6, all 3 are speaker amps, a 10wpc, a 50wpc and a 60wpc. These are all tube amps, not hybrid like a Lyr or an EF5.

I'm in the process of buying a Phonitor, a Liquid Lightning, a SR009, a K1000 and a Edition 8. For now.
You can call me crazy.
