I'm looking for a pair of over ear, closed back headphones for hopefully around $200. I hope to not be forced to keep these headphones stashed away at home, but be able to wear the on the bus and around campus without attracting looks at some giant clunky pair. I know style is not an aspect most people put very far forward on their list, but I'm not making it the end all, be all consideration. I simply want good sounding headphones that are at the very least wearable outside. (By the way, I mostly listen to rock) Thanks!

Hey thanks for the advice, I've done a bit of research on them and they seem like very nice headphones and nearly perfect in terms of what I'm looking for. The only problems I see with these headphones is that they don't come with a case, not even a pouch to help keep them a little more safe. So my question for you is how you deal with that? I'm going to have to keep them in my backpack and would hate for them to get scuffed up while in there. My second question is do they fold flat in any way? I couldn't tell from the reviews I've read.

Once you take the insert out they fit just fine... a bit loose but it is a nice case.
 
And yes they do fold flat.

Alright, my local BestBuy has them so I'm gonna go see if I can demo them there, but as long as their audio is how other have described, I don't see a problem. Thanks for the help and I'll probably go with the second case you mentioned simply because my budget is tight.

Also look into the ue6000 and the v-moda headphones. The v-moda m100 is absolutely amazing and highly recommended for it's looks sound and portability. The M100's can be found used for just north of $200.

If by just north you mean 50% more than his budget haha. 
 
My recommendation would be the UE6000. While they may not have an insane bass in passive mode, with noise canceling, the bass comes out some. They're definitely not lacking bass in passive mode though, just neutral. They also can fold up nicely and have a detachable cable. I bought my like new condition m100's from another user on here for $210 shipped 2 weeks ago and there was another listing for $225 that had XL pads. V-moda also has certified refurbs for $245 in the private sale section.

Good point, I was talking about new though. Of course buying anything used lowers the price which opens up pretty much all $300 cans to be picked from, as long as they don't mind buying used.

I have had bad luck in the past with used products so I think I'm going to try to stick to new only and if I do that, the m100's are a little out of my price range.

Thanks for the recommendation. The reviews of them seem to be generally positive, but they unfortunately not in stock in any store in my area. If the AKG's sound like what I'm looking for, then I'll probably just get them since I'll have heard them first hand. If not however, I will definitely give the UE6000's a try.

Vmoda m80! Highly recommended, I think its better suited for rock than the bass heavy m100.

I would agree with you, but the M80s are still pretty bass heavy. I also found them uncomfortable for my large ears + glasses so I gifted them to my brother who has super super small ears and no glasses haha.
