I need a pair of cans that will be useful for both a set of electronic drums (Roland TD-15) as well as the occasional game of F1 2012 (offline racing video game). No real preference between on- and over-ear.
I've loved the warm sound of my Grado SR-60s for some time, but they're broken and obviously leak sound; I'm also looking for a bit more separation. I'm currently quite happy with my Vsonic GR07 IEMs, particularly the instrument separation, but I don't want to use them continually between commuting and other applications, and need an non-IEM for when friends come over to race. I generally like a lot of bass. Portability is not a consideration. Will not use a headphone amp.
Budget is around $150. Am considering the ATH-M50, but am open to other suggestions. Thanks!
