So, is anyone else psyched about Rusty Cooley's new band, and the impending release of their debut album, or am I the only one?

Although all that I've heard thus far has been the slim amount of material (legally) released on the net, I have to say that the band looks really promising. They sound ever so much like a more pissed-off Symphony-X, if the latter band started listening to Pantera, Meshuggah, and Nevermore, then went into the studio with tons of adrenalin and pure inspiration. Rusty is, of course, one of the best, it not the best, new guiarist in heavy metal, and the vocalist is simply Godly (he quit not too long ago, but the new one is supposed to be very good too). Songwriting seems to rely more on finesse, a unique sense of melody with a Middle-Eastern feel, and a solid understanding of heavy metal basics, rather than compositional wankery and 30 minute songs that go nowhere.
Check them out, the disk might very well turn out to be one of the best metal releases this year.
