well, I remember going to a couple (mentioned from here), but now I can't seem to find them again.

Audiogon is a pretty solid source for equipment: AudiogoN high end audio auctions, classifieds, hifi chat

They don't seem to have a headphone category but searching on "headphone" yields a fair number of results in a variety of categories.

It's unlikely you'll find bargains there, but for that hard to find piece it's a good place to monitor...
