if you want some great sound, an old Zune 30 can be found for cheap these days. wonderful player, i really enjoyed mine when i had them.

IMHO Cowon makes the best portable audioplayers.

Try Archos. They have some nice players. I have the Archos 504 and loving it.

Cowon does make nice ones... but the audio jack stopped working on my 5x
