Oriolus Traillii Electrostatic Hybrid IEM discussion thread

After many years and many iem’s I have just traded for the OG and will have them hopefully tomorrow. I’ve heard a lot as well and will leave my thoughts here. Since my focus is prog metal, prog rock, death metal, and jazz my thoughts may be different than others. I think there’s a lot of pop and vocal listeners here.
Congrats! I'm not sure about death metal but I do like the JP for modern rock and jazz. My primary genre is EDM and yet JP is one of my favorite sets :)

What! 😀 Ha!

For me Traillii is still #1 over the Ti. As for the comparison with the Sus, as I said, different perspectives. For me, the Sus wins easily in a direct comparison as I previously described. The Sus bass hits harder, has a longer sustain when called for and is more detailed than both. Mids are close, but the Sus is just more detailed and open. There is a greater clarity to the Sus as I hear it, though I feel both Trailliis are probably the best for that among IEMs. Certainly close though.

Anyway, both are excellent.
I had never heard any of the Traillii models prior to the EuroJam meet in Amsterdam at the start of the year.
As was to be expected, there was a crazy wealth of IEMs and sources available to try out, probably rivalling or slightly edging out what is available at Canjam London.

I tried the OG Traillii, the Traillii JP and the Ti. Knowing the approximate cost of each, I was rather determined to "not" like the Ti enough as no IEM has the right to cost as much. Lo and behold, I only needed a few tracks to dismiss the Ti's older brethren and found myself reaching for my wallet to place an order with Musicteck.

It is that much better- to each their own, of course.

Ti is my new fav too!
And hey is there a OG Traillii different from JP??

Hi guys!
I just bought the Birds (without cable).

What cable would you recommend to reveal them in the best way? I have a couple of cables like Hulk or gold plated from Ali, but I'm not sure that connecting them to them is the right decision)
I listen to a lot of EDM (especially vocal trance), so it would be nice if the cable emphasized/added bass.

On the other hand, I already have Odysseys, and I have no goal to turn Trailies into Odysseys :)
I just want to listen to Trailies, including bass genres

Thanks for any reco

Did you take Traillii JP or Traillii Ti?

The Birds with AliEx cables noooo! :)
Probably start with getting their stocks? Won't be the most expensive options to start off with too.

I assume you purchased the Traillii JP ( the original Bird )? If so, I recommend the PW 1960’s cable that came with it. Many also like the PW First Times as well.

The summit matching cable for me is the PW Orpheus. This cable allows the Bird to produce the most bass and it is my favorite cable with it. However, the PW1960’s is so close.

I'm revisiting the Traillii after a long pause and I am amazed how complete they sound, how mature. I believe we are too often attracted by the special strengths of a set or another, but it's the balanced sets that stand the test of time. It's also my only set still sporting the original cable and original tips. I do change the tips sometimes to Coreir, but the best cable remains the stock one, with the Ulan 8W taking its place sometimes for a bit of change of nuance.

Wow. Totally agree. I was going sell JP when i pick up TI and end up.keeping both. They both sound amazing. After 5 years and traillii still competing with newer sets these days is a testament of time. It is my goat for sure. Newer sets always seem to be good at one area and falls short in others. Traillii definitely one of the most coherent and balance set that will continue to stand out in coming years. Will be amazing if traillii can still be the topic of discussion in another 5 more years.

It depends on what you're looking for....if you want "body" and low end the stock cable is fine.
I see several used options on the local market:
1. PWA 1960 Oriolus version (I understand that this is the original one) ~800€.
2. PWA FT Shielding ~1600€.
3. EA Fusion 1 ~900€.

If you say that the stock cable is good, I probably need to negotiate for the first option.

Sorry for the question.... But Trillii TI by whom is it produced and who gives support ? Because I wrote to Oriolus and they told me that TI is not their Official product and they do not give support.
So....who produces Traillii TI and who (in case ) gives assistance ?

Well, I got my Traillii Ti from Musicteck and have complete confidence in their willingness and ability to rectify any problems.
My suggestion would be to buy from a reputable dealer.

I am currently travelling with just APX SE (and Lotoo's GT2), and while the new kid on the block currently feels like my current GOAT, Traillii Ti is such a special release. I had never owned (or heard) Traillii OG before the WC EU meet at the start of 2024 but it only took me a few days of deliberation before I hit the buy button. I enjoyed finally experiencing Traillii but the Ti is just next level IMHO.
