I know there's a "Folding@Home" thread, but it's not exactly what I'm thinking about

There's a lot more impressive work out there than mine, but I thought this would be good for a laugh. Post up your folds (or paper art)

Those are great! Do you make them from scratch? (Like without any instructions?)

lol I wish. Nah they were from instructions online. Yoda is actually on youtube, it's a pretty good video. Wouldn't recommend it as your first origami though!

I'm actually off work the next two weeks, so will update this thread with models as I go.

How big is the sheet before you fold it? It must be pretty huge with the amount of folds you need, no?

This is great stuff! Have you tried folding a Kawasaki rose yet? That is the one thing I really want to learn to fold but it's soooo hard

Heh. Funny you should ask that. The rose was the very first thing I folded on this folding stint.

The sheets are about 10 inches square. I've also made some models out of squares 5 inches across, but all of these are using the larger sheets, because as mentioned, you would otherwise run out of 'fold' before getting the shapes out. The bee's got me stuffed atm, and it's annoying me! Stupid sink folds limiting later folds.
