I thought I should add this... since my OP I've settled on a similar setup as @Blueshound24's. I installed JRiver, using WASAPI drivers, and set that as the Windows system default. JRiver is set to use the Schitt USB driver. Tidal for whatever reason keeps resetting to Windows system default, but I believe that's ok, since the default is JRiver.
I highly recommend using JRiver. I even set it up to access my FLAC files at home through WebDAV (using netdrive).
Now if I could only figure out why Tidal sounds like crap half the time! I suspect they use some really questionable source files.
