Hey guys,

I have been doing some research, and I can only seem to find some articles from a few years ago, nothing recent.

My Bifrost will be in tomorrow, and I'm not sure if I should use Optical vs Coaxial.

So, what does everyone prefer?

(Setup will be PC->Bifrost->Valhalla->DT770 600Ohm/D2000s)

I like optical over coax because so many coax cables are poorly shielded / constructed.

There are pros an cons to both.

COAX:  Cheaper, more bandwidth ( not all of it is needed )

OPTICAL:  A tad more expensive, slightly higher jitter, typically better contructed cables

I use USB 2.0 myself and really have no issues with it.

I was also leaning towards Optical. Either way, I doubt I would hear a difference, but I figured as fast as technology changes, maybe one has risen over the other.

For PC use it's not even close... optical.  PCs are noisy and any electrical connection is just going to bring it on down the line.  That includes USB.  You'll likely need an IEM and at least modest gain to hear it but the fact remains it's there with an electrical connection and not with an optical one.
