I recently bought my first DAC, the E-MU 0404 USB and I've been experimenting with its various features. Among them is the S/PDIF input. I've connected my TV and PS3 and had it working well. Just for grins I hooked up my Sony D-EJ01 cd player to the optical input and nothing I have tried has elicited any response from the 0404. Is the optical out on this player a genuine TOSLINK port? I know my cable is good and the port does light up when I insert the optical cable into the CD player. Does anyone know what might be going on here?
