My W3s have developed a connection problem near the plug - crackles, intermittent connection, etc. Since they are out of warranty Westone offered to replace them for $1xx. The cost, however, is more than getting them reshelled with new cable, I am wondering what the best option may be. Just want to hear others thoughts/opinions. I had UM56s with my previous Westone 2 which I enjoyed very much until I lost them. So I know what custom molds feel like somewhat.

Thanks.

When you say plug is it the one that plugs into the mp3 player etc?

Might be possible to get them recabled with btg-audio if you don't want to go to the hassle of reshelling.

Cheers
