I have read good things about this and it's 18 bit DA Converter.

Any recomendations for a PCDP source to use with a PIMETA and Senn HD580's?

No complaints here. It's got a silky smooth sound and even has a backlit display and wireless remote. It's the only old pcdp I kept.

Backlit LCD...cool! I don't think mine has the wireless remote though

. I just won an SL-XP700 on eBay, is this a step up from the 300?

Agreed. It also has big soundstage although it may be a little less balanced and slightly less detailed than the dcp-150. It's much smaller than the Denon however and runs on only 3 volts. It's one of my favorite sounding pcdps

but that should be no problem with a few nimh batteries in hand...
