me and my dad built this headphone amp because it was simple, and I was new to the amplification community. We had a little struggle because we couldn't achieve 6.3 volts from the tube power supply, therefor, we added a new transformer. We also heard some humming noise, so we fixed that buy adding another capacitor to filter "dirty voltage".

Overall, I am extremely impressed. I hooked it up to my computer and only mp3's sound soooo much better!

I think this project costed only about 30 bucks Canadian. If anyone is new to the electronics world and wants to get started, I highly recommend this! This project only took up about 2 weeks or so and it is relatively simple

I wil post some pictures soon!

-cheers!

actually, I was fortunate to have some relatives come back from china.

The tubes there are like pocket change. I ended up having like a bag full of tubes LOL

But most of the parts I actually had to buy were resistors. Other things like capacitors and regulators, we already had lying around the house.

my dad does some kind of electornics thing for a living, so he likes to collect... well.. garbage.
