Due to skin problems I prefer wearing IEMs opposed to headphones. Im looking for a balanced IEM with a wide open sound stage for use on the desktop and prolonged periods of time (3-4 hr sessions). I will be mostly using it for sound play in Counter-Strike but will also be regularly listening to a variety of music. Having a long life would also be a bonus. Budget would be around $100 AUD, thanks.

The Brainwavz R3 should work. It's really solid, pretty neutral (just a tad on the smooth side), and has a big sound that's most of the times comparable with full-size headphones. It's warm, but not bassy.

Here's a nice review:

Best Luck!

You can also check the Rock-It R50.
It's more detailed/precise but also more unforgiving of compressed/modern recordings (vs Brainwavz R3)
