Assuming sound quality, the best choice would be AH-D1001 (best hights from the list), but I find HD555 more comfortable. If you have an opportunity to try them all, you'd better do it because tastes differ.

D1001. I love these phones great unamped and with almost everything.

I'm thinking of picking up some SR-60's soon for metal/rock though.

But for your uses, def the D1001

Hi,

I would full heartedly suggest the Sennheiser HD485's. They go for $119.99 normally, but I got a pair on ebay for $74 new ($80 after shipping). They are awesome cans for the price, far better than Koss, Skull Candies, and Bose (IMHO). They sound warm, smooth, and have the right amount of bass. The bass has a nice punch to it while still being clear and controlled. Midrange is really smooth sounding and not exaggerated. Just perfect for metal/rock. They have a good amount of detail and clarity, perfect for shooting games (where you need to know where people are coming from), and also for movies.

Get them HERE
