Any suggestions? I want an option that is comfortable, isn't huge, is open, doesn't need gobs of power, and is preferably able to run balanced. Neutral sound preferred (no Grados, please). I have the other options covered by my other equipment. I should add that it has to be less expensive than the cheapest of my other wired headphones (which were $650 and $1500).

Maybe this is unobtanium.

Have you looked into the DCA Aeon 2 Open?

The Aeon 2 Open is too expensive for my intended use, and I've never really liked the DCA headphones' sound. But thanks.

Sure thing!

Just to note: I thought the now incredibly inexpensive Philips Fidelio X3 might work, but it needs far more power single-ended than my two portable sources can supply and the mid-to-treble range bothered me. But it was very comfortable. The cables were both far too long and I would have needed a custom 4.4mm cable. I would probably like the sound of the Audio-Technica ATH-R70X, but it needs more power, too. I've read many conflicting reviews of the Sivga Phoenix and HarmonicDyne Zeus, both of which might be useable with balanced cables.

Do you already own the HD600/50/XX?

Never liked any of that line, going back to the HD580. As the saying goes, too veiled. And I hated the clamping force.

I just got the iBasso SR2. Running balanced, I think it answers my question.
