I'm looking for pair of head phones that sound sort of like the DT770 but open and with more sound stage. I don't care about bass, I just think the highs are easier to listen to than the AKG K701. I like everything about the AKG except, sometimes the highs, especially brass sounds harsh. Even if the AKG-K701s sound was perfect, I'm still going to replace them because they are too uncomfortable.

I'm using a WA6 with PDPS, so my amp can handle just about anything. I'm looking into the $300 dollar range, but will go up to $500.

I listen to Miles Davis, Beethoven, and trance (mostly Above and Beyond), if it helps.

I was thinking the HD600s or DT880s. Maybe the HD650s.

DT 990s? Pretty much open DT 770s from what I have heard

The DT990 is what your looking for if you want a similar sound. The HD650 and HD600 would be good too if you don't mind less bass and a overall laid back sound.

I didn't realize the HD650 where so cheap. I order a pair of them.
It's mainly the top end I like on the DT770. The HD600/HD650 sounds more like what I want. Thanks you for the suggestions.
