open back circumaural headphones ... still exist?

hi

th sony MDR-605LP were my first "good" headphones.

is there any equivalent to those around?
i need an open back because i want to be able to hear the kids while working and still have the comfort of circumaural.

You have plenty of options such as the AKG K501, 601, 701, the Beyer DT880 or 990, Senn HD580/600/650/555/595, Sony SA500, SA3000, SA1000, etc...

Eh, when you see open back, it generally means open air. They may not LOOK as open, but they're still very much so. If you're looking for ones that look exactly the same as the ones you had, the Sony MDR-F1 has the same kind of design and it's still around. The AKG K1000 is even more open. But honestly, any Grado will be just as open as those Sonys in practice, even if they don't look it. I honestly hear 95% the same when I'm wearing them as not wearing them. My AKG K701 are also very open, but not quite as much as the Grados.
