Well I've finally finished my Meta42, after having the board for months now, and I've begun to mod my 0404(just removing the output caps for now), and I'd like to hear impressions of the sound of different opamps that you guys have used to replace the jrc's in your 0404's. I'm looking to tighten up the bass, and maybe flatten out the highs a little bit. Opamps I've looked at so far are the AD8066 and 8620. What do you think would give me the best results?
THanks.

removing caps from signal path definitely a good thing.. you can even leave out those two opamps right next to the DAC chip, you have to bridge a few pads with a drop of solder to make it work.. there's a measurable difference w/ opamps 0.0020% w/o opamps 0.0025% thd, I don't think it's that much important, the benefit is you have less active parts in signal path (and you don't have to pay that much for opamps

tighten up the bass? LT1364 or AD826 is the answer!
