wow! i just saw them at newegg. i'm soooooo tempted to get them.
but... i just got some beyerdynamic dt770s.
BUT.... i have some sennheiser hd-280s i might sell. oh those hd580s look so tempting. if i sell my hd-280s for like around $65-70 (they're in excellent condition), i'll have enough + whatever i have saved up to get those hd580s.
then i'll have dt770s and hd580s. they seem pretty complementary to me.
should i pull the trigger?

btw, i listen to a wide variety of music. classical, rock, jazz, a touch of hip-hop, etc...

Hey, if your not happy with the 280's you might as well sell em and give the 580's a try. It's a great deal for a new pair. You might not want to wait until you sell the 280's, they may not have alot in stock.

Out of curiousity how do you find the 770's compared to the 280's?

yeah, if i go for it (and i'm leaning towards doing that), i'll just wait for a buyer.

well, i don't exactly have an amp yet, so i don't think it's particularly fair to compare the dt770s to the hd280s, even though the dt770s would benefit more from an amp. my dt770s are not quite burned in yet, but i like them better. the bass is strong, deep and tight, but not too strong (well, i don't think so). i found the hd280s a little boring actually, but not the dt770s. i like them quite a bit.
