I paid over 200 dollars for this thing last year, and it works great! I got only 2 problems that are coming out now that I dropped it last week by accident :P

1 was always around but started to get bad recently. Which is when the battery is at 1/3, and you shut the thing off, it won't turn back on! even though there is MORE THAN ENOUGH power to keep it going for I'd say an hour or so. Proof is that when I plug it into other devices it works for some time.

What is up with that? some kind of upset-proof setting or something? that your battery will die when u use it, so no point in it turning on?? I want it disabled!!

Also the next problem is now after i dropped it when I press a button it makes a nasty little hiss noise when the backlight is on, it goes off right after but I dunno why this happens! I think it could result from two wires that are now touching and the backlight causes some kind of feedback?

Also 1 annoying thing is that the recording device has HORRIBLE quality!!

I was at a concert and I went to record a minute of the song cause it was banging, and it came out so distorted even though I was far from the speaker, all I heard was fuzz and feedback.

Any way to 'patch' the quality? Also when I recorded off the radio I thought it would b atleast radio quality sound but its not, and it ruins that ability totally. It can only be used to record lectures from very close it seems.

Anyways this forum is amazing exactly what I've been searching for all this time!!!

All the best.....

I like my Creative flash players (NX, TX and Zen Nano) ... but after a single experiment with the voice recorder, I wouldn't ever expect much from that feature. It's OK sound quality for a "reminder" messsage, or something like that, but even clearly spoken words in a quiet room came out really creepy sounding (I know, I know, even creepier than I already sound!). I can't imagine ever getting anything clearly listenable at a concert (too bad, though).

Can't help with your other issues -- I've considered the "normal" backlight buzz to be a non-issue with the Creatives (a second and a half of minor noise hasn't been a deal-breaker with these players, for me). Maybe dropping it made the normal buzz worse -- I don't know.
