I have a Onkyo HT-R410 Receiver hooked up to one Sansui SP5500X speaker with very thin gauge wire. However the wire is a very short run, less than three feet. This is after an hour two at half volume or less.
Does the heat mean the unit is at risk of blowing a fuse?
The speaker it's driving has a sensitivity of 98db, impedance of 8 ohms, max wattage of 120, and weight of over 43 lbs. My guess is that this receiver does about 50 wpc, rms, but that's just a real world estimate. The official specs say 70 wpc at 8 ohms.
Thanks for your help.
