For the phone case, I think it is no worries as this is a phone and it will have much bigger market than the DAP. So expect many more case will come up.

From the videos on youtube, it doesn't seem that all menus are in english.. as in some / many are in japanese..

Don't worry, as a dp-x1 user for 1 year I can tell you it is 100% native Android so English will not be an issue.

Thanks. Like the look of the case pic you posted though. Doubt there will be an Otterbox for an Onkyo phone so that case may be the closest we'd get to full protection (due to the screen cover). Looks like it'll allow access to the nav button and volume so should be great for just playing tracks and forgetting about the screen. Be nice if the front cover had a cutout for the ear speaker to talk with the screen cover on (depending on the material might be easy to make a slim cutout).

Don't worry, as a dp-x1 user for 1 year I can tell you it is 100% native Android so English will not be an issue.

Looks like the phone is set to Japanese language but the file names (and the person is folder browsing) are in english.

FWIW, there is no band 20 (800MHz) in the LTE domain, so it might mean that the O2 customers in the UK won't be able to use 4G. Others seem to be OK. See details re LTE bands http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/how-to/mobile-phone/how-tell-whether-phone-is-supported-by-your-network-3597426/

If only that were the case.. In my country, South Africa, the dual-SIM/dual-standby version of the S7 Edge is not available (unless it's a grey import), and I desperately need a dual-SIM phone...
The DP-CMX 1 gives me that...
 
...and a HUGE PLUS; the 3.5mm jack allows for a earphone with mic, so I can make and take calls, whilst listening to music.
 
Do think I would need to carry 2 battery-packs/portable charges tho
