btw.. why don't you consider the RE-0? There is a brief comparison between the RE-0 and the CK-10s here:

Having done my study, I found out that the ATs have a dynamic – like sound, despite being dual armatures.

Well, in my case this is exactly what I have been looking for. The presence and life of a dynamic speaker but with the tone of an armature!

As I said earlier, an HF5 on steroids!!!

…seems like I found it!

I really want to purchase the ck10 but I'm scared that the bass will be too weak for me...

Is the sound really that "tiny"? I had the UE Superfi.5 Pros and the bass was pretty good. Are the ck10 around the same level? or even weaker?

Any input would be appreciated.

Haven't heard the UE's, but I noticed you have the ck9's, the ck10's sound like a beefed up ck9. They do everything a bit better, more bass, smoother and more detailed mids and better highs.

Well I found the bass on the CK9 horrible (non-existent)! Is the bass on the CK10 more prominent? And BTW, is the cable the same on the CK9 and CK10s? The one on my CK9s were a bit stiff/thick which affected my fit.

I ordered the ATs (CK10) and expect them by next week.

For some reason I feel this is a solid purchase. I will make sure to post my comments on them. At the current price I can see them as a solution for many of us...

The cable is, as I can tell, the same on both, but in no way would I say it's stiff/thick. In my opinion the cable is one of the best to be found in an IEM.

The bass is more present and better quality on the ck10 than on the ck9.

Congrats on your purchase, you will love them, I'm sure.

It was only a very brief test of the X vs S9, to make my mind up on which to go for (I still don't know). I used the X with only clearbass, no EQ or any other DSP. I found the bass a little lacking without CB, but at +1 or even +2 it was perfect for my taste, +3 is for bassheads.

Inside japan, the CK10 have never been more than that on the street if you give or take 20$. It is only outside of Japan that they cost soooo much. It has nothing to do with AT being expensive. Even the CK100 are about 300$ in Japan.
