Hi there!
I am the happy owner of a Sony NW-ZX-2 and an Onkyo DP-X1 player, and since yesterday the happy owner of a Shure KSE 1500. I have tried both in the line out mode, the Onkyo a disaster since the line out is set at max volume, thus clipping occurring. The Sony, just the opposite: far too low.
I always tend to think that using the line out is better since you avoid double amplification and double distortion. But I am starting to have my doubts...
