Forgive me if this belongs in the cable section, but I am posting this here as it pertains specifically to IEM 2-pin cables. If this needs to be moved, please do so/report it. My question if you haven't figured it out from the title is, on the 2-pin cables, should the Red/Blue dot indicators be facing up or down/does it make a difference?
I've always thought the dots should be facing up. This was recently reinforced when I came across a description on 64 Audio's website: "Each 2-Pin connector is marked with a red or blue dot. Red=Right, Blue=Left. Attach each side with the colored dot facing up."
However, the Kinera H3 cable has pre-formed ear loops and when attached, the Red/Blue dots are facing down.
Now, I'm more inclined to follow 64 Audio's method, no knock on Kinera, but 64 Audio is a very well respected & established company.
What are your thoughts on this? Thanks.
