My dad has two old turntables laying around that I'd like to look into using:

Fisher Studio Standard mt-57

I'll have to get the other model # later. Any suggestions on this?

Fisher was originally a US brand which was I think bought out by Sanyo to serve as their premium marque like Technics was for Panasonic.

The Studio Standard stuff I've seen is early '80s so some of it is still fairly well made but it would follow the general trajectory of all mass market Japanese kit and go steadily downhill after 1982.

I don't know the MT-57 but if it's a straightforward belt drive it may be worth a spin as Sanyo made some decent enough budget turntables in the late '70s/ early '80s but nothing to really get excited about.

I'd be more interested in what the other deck is really...
