Sorry to hear your computer woes .. I dislike notebooks, though I'm using one right now, because if it is a hardware problem (which it seems likely), it is very hard to get inside and tinker around to find the problem.

Anyway, try reflashing the BIOS if you haven't already done so (provided it is software flashable).

It is software flashable.. However, I lack a floppy drive. I'll have to see if i can get THAT burnt to a CD too, if even possible....

Indeed, they are a pain.. Everything is propritary, and everything is soldered onto one board! Argh! Convenient when needed, though.
