Sep 24, 2016 at 1:32 PM Post #181 of 195
What happens with these play settings entries:

Path: \x1firmware\str\enlish\play_settings.ini

<track_peak>Track + Peak</track_peak>
<album_peak>Album + Peak</album_peak>
<digital_filter>Lowpass Filtermethode</digital_filter>
<fast_down>Steep</fast_down>
<slow_down>Gradual</slow_down>

I can find no corresponding items in the "play settings"

Can somebody explain to me?

Hi, Kepala
1. You can get the information about the improvement in FW2.0 from: http://fiio.net/en/story/461
2. The items you indicated are synchronized from the X3II's firmware, since the system of the X3II is similar to the X1. But they are inactive on the X1.

I hadn't used my X1 for a few months so found out about FW2.0 only yesterday.

Wow what a difference! Changing tracks with artwork doesn't take 5 seconds anymore. Woo! Good job guys.
And the new dark theme looks fantastic. For the first time in over a year I'll stick to a stock theme for a while. Cheers!

Only thing I dislike so far is why a Beats logo in the track background if no artwork is present? Ugh

This upgrade is really nice!!

I do notice one problem - at least for me. I can't browse through the list of Categories or the Settings using the left/right buttons anymore. I have to use the scroll wheel (which doesn't work very well on my Fiio). Left/Right seems to work on other lists.

I still wish (and have for a long while) that the file lists would show the titles instead of the filename. Changing that in settings doesn't seem to do anything.

Thanks for the update. Just finally getting to it...

Besides, the user can lock the display by click the power button when the message appear. This function is suitable for most users. But sorry for bringing inconvenience for you. Charing for the battery on time will also be good for the battery life.

No, you're wrong about that.

The message reappears obsessive every few seconds (15-20 seconds or so)  even if I press Power to shut down the screen and EVERY time when is displayed, FIRST button (NEXT for ex) press is ignored because of the low battery message then SECOND press will execute the function.

And I don't know about the threshold but my X1 will start to display the warning when battery icon has 2 lines and it will take some time to reach one line and then eventually discharge completely.

So you see? Annoying :) .. and I don't understand why the user can't control this behavior at all.

I don't care if we cannot control it, I just think it should be fixed. It wouldn't be hard to just not turn on the screen when the low battery warning fires. Then it can pop up as much as it wants and won't be noticed at all—just like it's not noticed in the pocket, only this time saving battery power.

I keep on begging for BOOKMARKS on the firmware. Please, please, please.

Dear lerimock,

What is the bookmarks function you want?
The X1 has resume mode. Can this meet your need?
There may no new firmware update for the X1 if there are no big bugs.

Best regards

Hello.
When i'm talking about bookmarks, i'm talking about the chance to stop hearing an audio file at any time, save the position in memory, to hear another audio files, and, whenever i want, to resume playing the audio file from the position i saved. It is very useful for listening to podacst, long audio files from radio programs, for instance. I hear many podcasts, 2-3 hour long sometimes, and if i don't have the bokmarks function, it is very complicated.
Thanks a lot.

This bookmarking used to be an issue for me. I resolved it via separating music and podcasts. Since X1 series are fairly inexpensive, I ended up buying X1 1st gen and two of X1 2nd gen. I also use M3. All for music. For podcasts I use android phones using Smart Audiobook Player and this app syncs via various android devices I use.

I am hoping when X5 3rd Gen software is stable, I will migrate there and it would take care of music and podcasts.

Dear lerimock,

Thank you for your feedback. But it is not availble for the X1. We will report to the product manager and consider whether adding it to our later products.

Best regards

Hello,
The firmware of my Fiio X1 is the F1.3 version.
Can I update from the F1.3 version to the F2.0 version, without going through the intermediate versions F1.4, F1.6 etc?
Regards
Antonio
