Awesome, thanks for the info!

It looks like I'll be selling:

--My Sony MDR-1A, for about 180 dollars because I am only going to sell it with one of the original two stock cables included
--My Shure SE215's, for about 50 because eh, screw it.  Lol.

Thanks for the info. I have a couple of cans, not much else and won't be selling. I've stuff on my iPhone great to test low bass (17 hz stuff). Also songs with "barely tolerable" highs, on the right gear, that quickly reveals common shortfalls there in many phones.

Have a ton of stuff I could sell, but not sure how much I'll bother with...seems it could keep me from enjoying the other stuff at the meet.

So who wants to buy my Sony MDR-1A for $180 with only one of the two originally included stock cables?  THey normally sell new for $300 here in the States, and mine are nice and broken-in and comfy but at the same time in like-new condition :)

And who wants a bargain on a pair of Shure SE215 IEM's for only 50 bucks?  I'm willing to haggle down to as low as 215 bucks or so for both the SE215 and MDR-1A as one package, and as low as 45 for the SE215 by themselves and 175 for the MDR-1A by itself.

Could you please add three people to the list? My cousin (Phi), a friend from California (Phil), and I (Gary) will be attending. My cousin has a pair of K701s and a magi/modi combo, but doesn't want to bring it to the meet. If anything, it's only going to be Phil and I with our M50s... Yes, we're aware of the reputation of the M50s, and we've came to a conclusion that it's an overhyped headphone. Phil and I are in the market for new cans, and we figure that attending to this meet will help direct our next purchase. Overall, we're newbies. We're excited to attend as this will be our first ever head-fi meet, and look forward to seeing everyone!

The M50's are good for their price, you can definitely do a lot worse at that price-point.  There was a point in time when there was just about nothing truly better out there in the sub-$200 price-range.  But these days yeah, you can do better!

Find me (my real name is Jack Goodman) at the meet and I'll let you try my Sony MDR-100AAP.  They're a new headphone from Sony, only been out for about a month and a half, cost in the 150 to 220 dollar range depending on 2where you live, and totally blow something like the ATH-M50x out of the water as far as portables go, in my opinion :)  In fact, they may be the very best portable headphones available now for under $350!  Sony really set the bar with them.

I'm sure lots of other folks will have some very good mid-fi level headphones for you to try as well.  Some people I'm sure will have the NAD Viso HP50 and the PSB M4U 1, which are both great options in the under-$250 range.

I look forward to seeing you there!

Please let me know if any of you have an interest in sampling any of my gear (listed below). I plan on bringing any and all portable gear, and cannot decide if I want to lug around all of my desktop equipment, but will gladly bring down anything that others would like to sample!

Ok I'll update the for sale area... if you don't see your name on the front page let me know. Also, if you're listing gear that you're bringing and gear for sale please denominate the two in some way. I don't want to have to work to figure out between the two. AuxNuke's way of doing it is fine.

I might nto make it after-all. I totaled my car!  Whether i'll make it to the meet or not will depend on whether I have a car by then, obviously.
