Actually, we've got a guest room, so that's not out of the question.

Excellence in the form of Head-Fi own-house-opening-up-to-members-ness, I can't wait to verify my little road trip & look forward very much to sharing my personal life story with your entire family while taking advantage of your generous offering. Also, you might want to install specialised water filters on your kitchen sink & guest bathroom as I have a rare medical conditional that...well lets say makes me require the special dihydrogen monoxide molecular structure of ditrium as well as a small antorage of rahter large & quite noisy mechanical devices to keep me alive. But take no fear in the cost of adding such accomodations to your home for my impending visit, they are tax deductable as a charitable offering from you personaly to me, also don't place too much bother on your concious that the mechanical antorage will generate unberable levels of ambiant noise in your house at all hours of the day/night, the devices harmonize quite nicely after a few hours of exposure & are really much less like a jet take off and more like a loud telephone ringing all the time when proper hearing protection/isolation devices are worn. I'll let you know if I will be needing anything else from you as the 10th approaches.

Looks like you might want to reconsider that invitation(?) Burb . . .

A very generous offer. I second the motion of a post-tour, gear-infested wing-ding at Burb's place. Also, always a prudent choice to drink AFTER making decisions about major purchases.

We'll eventually need to get a list of participants and gear together. For now, let's continue to post on this thread until we can get a clear enough plan to warrant a second or third thread.

Please continue to generate ideas. Also, any other So Cal Head-Fier's that could possibly accomodate out-of-towners?

YOU TOO?? We've probably met at one of the support groups, then

OK, then, an after-party it is, at least for now. Take note, JB, that our downstars area, though quite nice (or so I'm told), is rather small, and we likely could only handle 20 or so before the fire marshals come and shut the place down. We've had 35 people down there during a party, but several guests required a crowbar at the end of the evening to unstick themselves from adjacent revelers

... Perhaps we could separate into 2 areas: indoors for open-air phones, and the patio for in-ears and sealed dynamics.

Again, discuss...

There are still some spots open. The tour is just about two weeks away, so try to post as soon as possible.

Will there be anyone attending that already has UE-5 or UE-10?

I'd be very curious to know the level of custom fit refinement that could be attained by visiting UE directly. I missed the opportunity this year but... who knows for the future...?

I'm in.

I live in Torrance, but I'll be driving back down from a vacation in the San Francisco bay area. Any head-fier's that want a ride down and can find their own way back up, I can accommodate up to two additional people (I have a small car and want to save room for luggage, etc.) I haven't decided exactly which day I want to come back (either Thursday or Friday), so if anyone wants to come down, PM me with a preferred day.

Any head-fier living along the way (Fresno, Bakersfield, etc.) can also take advantage of this deal. Again remember, you have to find your own way back. I'm willing to drive you to the bus station, train station, airport etc. on the day of the event immediately after the event; if you want to leave later, then you are on your own.

I'd be interested in going as well.

Are pictures allowed?

I live in San Pedro, close to Palos Verdes and Long Beach.

Could we have this thread moved to the Meetings and Get together Forum? And also a sign up update post in the first post?

I'll email Mike tomorrow about the pics- good thinking, never occurred to me that some areas might be off-limits to cameras.

Definitely time to move the thread and to put an attendee list up front. I’ll get on the later tonight.

With something like 10 days untill the tour It is looking like I will not be making an appearance at this event. I would love to drive the ~26 hours it would take to get there, but I don't have anyone else to pick up along the way so I doubt I will make the treck alone. I'm still open to the idea, but I would need to have at least one person come with me for a good part of the way in order to think it worth while. If anyone is interested drop me an e-mail or a pm.

Forty HOURS, 2642 MILES, let's calculate, guessing 42 MPG (at high speed, sometimes 39, sometimes 48, low speed MUCH better), only 63 gallons one way. At $2.20 a gallon, $139, plus at least four nights in hotels, figure $200, so it is only $340 not counting meals, or wear and tear on the car, and me. Anyone want to car pool from the DC area?

Looks like $198 ROUND TRIP on America West is the winner. Now, time, hotel reservations, rental car, the wife...

Still, I am actually trying to pull this together.

I do have one question though, why would anyone want to move from Las Vegas to Irvine? Something like 5,000 a month are moving the other direction!
