Hello folks,
I'm looking for some advice on options for an office DAC and headphone amp (either combined or separates). Here's some info to help narrow it down:
1. Mac as the source via USB (Roon)
2. I want to be able to listen with headphones obviously but also I want to be able to connect to some powered Genelec monitors.
3. Headphones include Sennheiser HD800, Hifiman HE400i, BeyerDymanic DT770, AKG 501
4. I listen to primary classical music and jazz
5. I tend to favour a fairly neutral sound signature
6. Must be able to play high res PCM and Quad DSD
7. Budget of around $1500 but am happy to spend less
8. Pro gear isn't a turn off for me.
9. Bonus for high build quality
I know of some options, but would love to hear thoughts from the community. Some of the older dac's I've used in the past have been the Grace 901 and the Marantz HD-DAC1.
Looking forward to your thoughts.
