Really loving the KAEDE tonight. These scale beautifully with my home rig.

I haven't heard the 2 but if it is about the same - and it sounds like it - grab a pair. The KAEDE isn't just a fine IEM, it is a fine headphone - and in particular a fine rock headphone.

I did like them for rock a bit. Same for the Sui. But a lot of the time Rock music just gets too aggressive with them. The SE5 is by far the best IEM I've heard for rock.

I was talking to someone who owned both Kaede and Type II and he said Type II was somehow brighter than the original. I'm not quite sure who these things are made for :l

I was not expecting them to arrive this early but they did. I am glad this is nothing like the EX-1000. So far it is a very open sounding IEM. I will be putting this against the ckr10 which uses the same technology (implemented differently) and to my ears ckr10 does have certain treble spikes that I haven't heard on kaede II yet.

I will play some percussion and piano albums and see how much better kaede is. I will do the same once the 200 hour mark reached and see how thins changed.

I really like the fit, once it is on they feel like they are not there.

As a dynamic driver IEM enthusiast I am very intrigued, I have my eyes on the upcoming hifiman RE-1000 but honestly beside the FitEar Fitear there is nothing else out there that had my attention as much as Kaede. I hope it delivers all the wait and work I had to put in so I can find a unit.

Waiting on one myself! Looking forward to hearing your impressions.

The technology is actually completely different from the CKR series. The Ocharaku phones don't use dual drivers in a push-pull configuration like the CKR do. The purpose of the dual drivers in the Flat-4 phones is to (allegedly) negate resonances in the ear canal. Whether this actually works in practice? Well...

I've enjoyed the Flat-4 IEMs I've heard (and I've heard pretty much all of them aside from the type II variants) for their dynamics and open wound, but there are plenty of IEMs I'd take over them.

Apart from Lab 1, piano forte, ftg334, 1plus2, ref 1 - which other iems do you recommend over Flat 4 Kaede?
