Hello,
I've never been quite so confused with a user manual for an mp3 player before so here goes....

Quite simply, what is the easiest way to create an on-the-go playlist consisting of 2/3 albums with the tracks played in shuffle order on the HD5?

hey there

you go to ' my library '
click ' create new playlist '
you enter a name for your playlist ( for example Summersounds )
you drag your files from your library to the playlist
( double check to make sure the files actually are in the playlist )
then you click the button in the right upper corner : Transfer
then you transfer the complete playlist to your player
( double check if the transfer is succesful , disconnect the playa and go and see for yourself )
then you just choose to play in shuffle

hi, it was on-the-go playlists I was looking assistance for, nevermind I found out on another forum.

i think you can hold on to the 'up' button while the song is playing. it will ask you which playlist (out of 5) you want to add the song to.

Where did you find the information? I am curious about OTF playlists capabilities on the HD5.

sorry to say this, but you'll be dissapointed.otg playlists are a tricky business on this player as this thread attests:
