I'm rewirering my headphones and don't know how I should proceed for the "Y" shaped neck section. I want it to be light and about 2-3' long ending with a mini XLF connector.

I've just received my cotton tubing and the 28AWG 5N 50' silver wire is in the mail.  I'll use up to 6 strands per channel (2 cables per channel, total of 24 strands). The cotton tubing is big enough for multiple strands and I'm wondering if I should pack 2-3 strands per tubing or only one strand per tubing.  In both cases, i'm going to put the cotton sleeved cables in a heat shrink sleeve.

1) Is there any benefit of wrapping the strands individually ? Enough to justify the added cotton bulk and weight.

2) I have some CO2 gas handy, would it be worth it to fill the heat shrink sleeve with it prior to shrinking ? CO2 beeing a bigger molecule the N2, wouldn't it stay in the sleeve longer and protect the wire from corrosion ?
