I previously owned Bose AE2 and people told me that Bose is notorious of having an overpriced product. I decided to sell them then buy Shure SRH840s for $179.99. I knew that the comfort was going to be a lot better with the Bose. But the sound quality feels the same and I feel that the soundstage is worse. I play counterstrike competiviely and I feel that the sound is just in my face and does not feel nearly as directional as my Bose AE2s. I am using these unamped, and I was told that these would be just fine unamped... Should I get an amp or just return these for something better?

Did I make a bad purchase or was I just expecting too much?

I've owned them for 2 weeks now and have been nothing but a little disappointed.
