Not sure where to post this, but...

I'm sorry to hear you're having a rough time man. I really hope things can turn themselves around for the better for you. I'm jealous that you are able to get new purchases at all. I can't even work anymore, what with the cumulation of damage that I've received over the last 6 years alone, and I'm only in my 30's.

Reviews... I've done one or two here on Head-fi, but not too many. I used to do reviews for Cypher Labs before they went outta business (I love their gear and regret having to have sold all mine), and I've done 1 or 2 guest reviews for Headfonia (actually some of my first, so they seem really scatterbrained when I look at them again), but I don't really have the technical know-how to warrant people sending me their gear like that. All I can really do is tell you how things sound to my ears, sans the science. That will, more often than not, make for a biased review, which is a little misleading.. Fun to do, because I like wordplay and writing, but misleading nonetheless. But hey, go ahead and check out some of the stuff I've written and you can decide for yourself. Haha.

Again, hope things get better for you. Good luck and best wishes

Thanks man, expecting the worst but hoping for the best, things overall should be looking a bit more on the up though, hopefully. :)
Ah geez, sorry to hear that. On the flip-side, less gear changes means more time listening to the music, rather than the gear I suppose hey?

Well, it seems a lot of reviews are done by a more consumer level reviewer, which I like seeing anyway. I am also a firm believer that there is bias in any review, just with some it is more obvious!
For me personally my only real hurdle would be if you are in Canada or not, since there seems to be a nice charge to get things over the border! (member here just sent me a power supply, costed him $50 to ship :o)

Thank you sir, I truly hope things pick up and get as much better for you as possible sooner than later too. Keep rocking!

Yeah, I know what you mean about there being bias in every review. I guess if there weren't at least a little then the review would end up being completely boring, huh?

Yeah, listening to the gear itself and not enjoying the music seems to be a problem quite a few people seem to have. I've noticed that here more often than I care to admit. It's a shame, because in the end you'll always be looking for something relatively better, rather than for what you enjoy.

By the way, you have 2 cans that I've always wanted in the Ether Flow and Sundara. I'm kinda jealous. Haha. Anyway, thanks again and have a good one man

Say, Audeze are your main cans?
They are. You know, Lieven (Headfonia, L) actually recommended you guys to me while back when I was asking around about cables for the LCD-XC.

And you use those Audeze terminated with 6.3 or something else?

Been looking for a Sony 4.4 termination but everyone's so expensive.

Indeed! Just adds a little more personal research to find out if said reviewer likes to hear what you like to hear, or if you have conflicting preferences.

Agreed, I've found myself to be part of that party unfortunately all too often. Been getting better with it, but still.. I'll blame the ocd tendencies. :)

Ah yes, the Flow! I actually had my eyes on the Ether Flow since I was just getting my first amp, dac and proper headphones (HD 598). Saw them at the number 1 spot on a pcgamer article and I loved the look of them, lusted after them but at the time figured "yeah, right" due to the cost.
Anyway, I got into this hobby deeper and found them for roughly half of retail on this very site. I haven't heard much besides what's in my signature, but they are my favorite cans! Seriously makes me debate keeping the LCD-2c or not..
The Sundara has a story that could be even worse for the "kinda jealous" feeling! I never win anything lottery or raffle wise, etc. But, I won the Sundara off of a giveaway on Hifimans facebook page! My first planars were Hifimans HE400i and I was actually researching into the Sundara and Ananda not long before this giveaway, then when I finally win something in life.. it was for something I actually wanted.

Damn, you won them?! I can't even enter the contests on Facebook because my account got banned. Dunno why it got banned. I only ever looked at audio pages, commented about audio gear, and talked with friends in Facebook messenger. They don't even provide support, either. Tried to contact them multiple times and don't even get an acknowledgment of my emails. On top of that, I think they IP banned me, because I can't even make new accounts under new emails.

Anyway, how do you like the Flow? The main reason I want it is because of its warmer and more weightier sound than my other cans. I have a preference that leans towards warm and bassy. Kinda weird that I love the Focal Clear, now that I think about it. Haha. And I just wanted the Sundara because I missed having an open planar. My first open back planar was the original HiFiMAN HE-500. I regret having to sell so much of my gear, but I needed a new wheelchair badly at the time. Hifi Pig helped a lot, but my other gear made up for what we couldn't raise, and now that I can't work anymore its hard to re-acquire any significant gear, you know? So you're absolutely right. Now I'm even more jealous of your Sundara. Congrats on that win though, man.
