i have a little list of iems that i can buy from my country, all of them for about 80~100$, and even throught i have read a lot i still don't have the money to buy all of them, can anyone help?...

the iems are jvc-ha-fx-300-re, audio-technica-ath-ck7, pioneer-se-clx60, sennheiser CX870....

i could buy IE6 and IE7 too, for about 200~250 $, (prices for my country, these are some of the most expensive, and rated at the same price as monster turbines)...

i Don't know if IE6 and IE7 are open, i mean if they isolate, because they have some holes in them....

and what option is better...

i mean what is the best to buy from this list....

i like the most jvc ha fx 300, sennheiser cx870, and IE6...
Recomandations, and help is very welcome!...
i need help, i read a lot about every of them, i want a pair that to sound almost neutral, i mean good to all types of music, that to be loud, have everything at the best.... i heard that the jvc ha fx 300 have an amazing sound stage, and amazing imaging, and that the IE6 are some of the best at all..... about ath ck7 senn cx870 and IE7, the info i found were vague, and maked me confused....

i don;t know how good do they fit, i woul need the best fit, i could run with them...

thanks in advance for any help, and have a great day....

Hi skerry,

Both IE 6 and IE 7 are IEMs with different sound qualities. The IE 6 offer a deep bass while the IE 7 produce a more balanced, natural sound.

Since you mentioned you wanted almost neutral sound, I think you may like the IE 7. Otherwise, you may also want to consider the IE 8 (if it's available in your country).

Cheers!

Between the FX300 and CLX60 there's simply no comparison (haven't heard the other two). The CLX60 is a very good, if slightly overpriced, performer while the FX300 does everything with amazing mediocrity. If the IE6 is going to run you $200+ while the Pioneers are <$100, the Pioneers are much better value for money. They also isolate a little better and I haven't had any issues with the fit (in contrast to the piss-poor design of the CLX50). If you can order from overseas they become pretty average but if what you outlined are your only options, I'd go with the CLX60.

thanks for help so far,...
still
pioneer is better than the jvc?... i mean, here i understood that the people were much more amazed by the sound of jvc, than i ever read about pioneer....
so... i still don't understand if IE 6 or 7 are open, or are closed, because of the holes in them....
By the way IE 8 is alavaible, but is cost 300, and may not worth the price....
i mean, they may, but they may not worth the plus 100 from IE7.....

about that, sennheiser cx870, nobody ever heard?... i think they are a sequel to the much loved or hated cx300....
pioneer i;m not very sure about how will fit the know on the right side, for my ear....
i still may need help, thank you so far...

Part of the problem is that the CLX60 is not available in the US so the number of impressions of it you'll find on Head-Fi is limited. People are amazed by JVC's FX500 and FX700, yes, but the FX300 is quite mediocre for the street price (which is around $50 here) and downright poor for the full asking price ($99.99) with companies like Brainwavz, Hippo, Meelectronics, and Fischer Audio making great <$100 gear.

The IE6 and IE7 are both vented dynamics. Their isolation is limited but they are not open in the way that the JVC FX700 is open. In terms of sound, it seems that you are really limited in your options if you cannot buy from abroad so it's silly to discuss value. However, if you want to know how I feel about the IE7 you can read rawrster's review here as he pretty much nails them.

so, it's a totally no to Sennheiser IE 6 or 7, because from an IEM i really need Closed, and Absolute isolation...
from now i still have to chose, from sennheiser cx870, jvc, ath ck7, and of course pioneer
in other way, the question goes a little around, like what one from these has
-the most isolation
-the most confort
-best sounding, i mean to be more neutral, because i listen to all types of music, may have some more bass, but not too much, it;s important that the mids to not be distorted....
-that can really make a song sound better, if used with cowon j3....

I know that cowon j3 has a lot of eq, so the most of ideal is that the iem to be neutral, so that i can hear the differences,,...

Well, I've not tried the jvc and the ath ck7 but you should definitely not get the cx870 - they are pretty mediocre for their price tag and I would not consider them unless they were like 20-30 bucks. On the other hand, the pioneer is pretty good and way better than the sennheiser in the sq department. The reason why pioneer doesn't have many good reviews here is because pioneer sells mainly in Europe. So, +1 on the pioneer - I think they are very good iems for around 60 bucks but you said 80 ~ 100 in your first comment, so not sure if the price is justified (I'm scared to ask how much the pioneer clx9 costs in your country) coz you can get way better iems in the 80-100$ range.

no problem, they cos 200$...

yeah, abut pioneer, are they neutral?... i mean that they to have bass, mids, range, neutral, not too high, not too low... o need ones that are as neutral as they can, or a little more bass, but i sure do not want to less bass, or too less mids... or highs... and pioneer do sit good in your ear?... about the clx60, they have a knob, is that incomfortable?... or can i cut it?...

i just found that monster turbines in ear are about 170$ in my country....

Well, I think the clx60 is comfortable to wear and the sound is pretty balanced. The bass goes deep enough and is pretty punchy and the good thing is that it isn't bloated, so the midrange isn't affected by it and it's decently clear and smooth. The highs are very good and overall the sound is pretty detailed. The soundstage is above average and the positioning is good. Sorry, about that short review but I am pretty busy.

thank you, so i think i will buy the pioneers... ( i am so suspicious, because the other pair i have, is horribly affected by a V shaped curve, and have a great bass, great treble, and very laid back midrange..... that is all i can say about them, they are cheaper 30$, and probably it's normal, but at 30$ earphones, yamaha, has better midrage... no deep bass, but the rest are good with yamaha....)

so for now i will buy the pioneers, and maybe the jvc or senns.... not sure yet....i will wait until i save more money(hehe).....

Well, cheaper headphones tend to have more forward mids and once you get used everything else seems laid back. Clx60 is pretty balanced though - there is no emphasis on the midrange, so some people might consider it slightly laid back but I think they are pretty smooth and in balance with the rest of the range. Also, I've found that almost all iems with above average soundstage seem to have slightly laid back mids but overall I find clx60 balanced. And as I said before I strongly suggest not getting the cx870 - the pionner is way better IMO.
